Co-investment in wind power projects with EDI MeKong Company

 
Mr. Tran Phu Thai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO2 chaired the meeting, along with the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hai - Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Le Quoc Vu - Deputy General Director and Head and Deputy Head of the General Department and the Construction Management Board. On the side of EDI Mekong Investment Joint Stock Company, there were Mr. Hoang Van Nang - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Do Thanh Tung - CEO.

At the meeting, EVNGENCO2 briefly introduced the process of formation and development of the Corporation since June 2012; production and business capacity; operating model when converting to a joint stock company; member units and the situation of production and business activities in 2021 of the whole Corporation.

Mr. Hoang Van Nang briefly introduced about EDI Mekong, formerly known as Electricity Construction Corporation I. EDI Mekong's strength is investment in building energy projects, and has implemented a number of investment projects in Vietnam. Nam such as Trung Son Hydropower, Quang Binh Wind Power and are planning to survey and invest in some more Wind Power projects. In the coming time, EDI Mekong Investment Joint Stock Company is looking forward to cooperating in investment in wind power projects with EVNGENCO2.

Regarding the wind power projects that are likely to be deployed in the near future, the Corporation has directly contacted Tra Vinh province to agree on the content, research and survey the location and area of the project area about approx. 4000 ha to research and invest in wind power in this locality. The fact that Tra Vinh province has proposed a 4000 ha project is in line with the orientation and policy of developing new power sources of society in the coming time, this is also the policy of developing new energy projects of EVNGENCO2. . On the basis of promoting the strengths of EVNGENCO2 and EDI Mekong, it is necessary to speed up and expedite the procedures and preparation for project implementation, in the immediate future, the installation of wind speed measurement stations. In addition, Phu Yen province is also a locality with a lot of potential for wind power development and needs to be researched soon to develop wind power projects in the future.

Concluding remarks at the meeting, Mr. Tran Phu Thai approved of the cooperation between EVNGENCO2 and EDI Mekong. Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO2 also directed the rapid implementation and piloting of a wind power project in Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province and then Phu Yen province, assigning the Construction Management Board to act as the focal point for implementation and implementation of the next steps.
